5.1.    Manual Awarding IASG

Actors

  • Student
  • User with appropriate permissions
  • Regent Award
  • ISIR

Pre-condition

  • Student is eligible to receive IASG or zero EFC treatment (Pell eligible) according the following ISIR flags:
      • DOD flag = “Y” (Department of Defense (DOD) Match Flag)
      • Parent death date value other than blank (Department of Defense (DOD) Parent Date of Death)
      • Pell LEU < 600% (NSLDS Pell Lifetime Eligibility Used)

Basic Flow

  1. Regent Award will trigger the ‘Review Potential IASG’ task and store it in the ‘Review IASG Eligibility’ task queue.
    1. The user navigates to the task queue and views the potentially eligible student.
      1. Determines award amount eligibility.
      2. If student is Pell eligible, navigates back to Modify Award Wizard and adjusts the Pell award for Zero EFC treatment and manually award Pell using the Override Eligibility Rules checkbox.
        1. Note: The ISIR will not need a correction to the EFC.
      3. If the student has a non-eligible Pell EFC, the student is manually awarded IASG and proceeds to Add Award Wizard and selects the IASG fund type and creates the award.
        1. Note: The IASG amount is awarded to the full Pell amount reduced by the sequestration amount (first disbursements on or after October 1, 2017 and before October 1, 2018 require a reduction of 6.6%).
      4. For both Pell eligible students and non-Pell eligible students (where the IASG award is created), sets the ISIR transaction with the DOD match flag = ‘Y’ as the active ISIR.
      5. When the IASG award is created in Regent, logs into COD and create the IASG origination.

Post-condition

  • Student is packaged for IASG
