5.1. Professional Judgement

Actors

  • Student
  • User with appropriate permissions
  • Regent Award

Pre-condition

  • Student contacts the Financial aid office and indicates they have an unusual circumstance that needs to be reviewed

Basic Flow

  1. User manually adds the Professional Judgement in a ‘Needed’ status.
  2. Student completes the Professional Judgment form and uploads the necessary documentation to support the unusual circumstance to the Student Portal or Submit document to school.
    1. Student portal
      1. Uploads form to the document requirement
        1. Regent Award updates the document status to ‘Received’
      2. Submits document to school
        1. User updates documents status would update document status to ‘Received’:
          1. Navigates to documents tab
          2. Selects checkbox for document to update status
          3. Updates document Status to ‘Received’.
        2. Regent Award triggers a ‘Review Student Document(s) task’ in the ‘Review for Professional Judgement’ Task Queue for each document received corresponding with the Professional Judgement. The User reviews the documentation and determine if it is satisfactory for the Professional Judgement;
          1. If the documentation is sufficient, the user approves the Professional Judgement and updates document status to ‘Complete’.
            1. The user marks the ‘Review Student Document(s)’ task to ‘Closed’.
          2. If the documentation is not sufficient, the user will change document status to ‘Incomplete’ and adds a reason.
            1. The user marks the ‘Review Student Document(s)’ task to ‘Closed’.
            2. The process will then restart at step 2 until all documents are marked at ‘Satisfied’.
          3. User will determine if professional judgement is approved or denied
            1. If approved notify student and make any necessary changes to ISIR as appropriate.
            2. If denied notify student of denial.

Post-condition

  • Student professional judgement is complete, and student is either approved or denied.
