Requesting NSLDS History
You can initiate a request for NSLDS History information using the Export NSLDS Files process found on your Home page under the Processes bar. Click Export NSLDS Files in the Processes list, enter the appropriate parameters, select Financial Aid History (FAH) or Transfer Monitoring (TSM) as the export file type, then make the selections as to the population of students you would like to select. Then click the Export icon. This will generate an Inform file for you to upload to NSLDS.
In the process log, you can view the list of exported students and any messages to assist with troubleshooting.
Once a student is submitted for TSM, they will not be submitted again until the 90 day TSM monitoring period has expired.
Note: The student must have an existing academic plan before they can be included in the Export NSLDS Files process.
If the Export File Type selected is Transfer Monitoring (TSM) and the student was previously exported for transfer monitoring, he/she will not be re-exported again if the (most recent begin monitor date + 90 days) for the student falls before the Begin Monitoring Date selected in this export process. If the Export File Type selected is Financial Aid History (FAH), there is no restriction on how often the student can be sent in the export file.
A "first time student" is any student who has NOT been exported to NSLDS for TSM monitoring by the system. If any of the "first time student" options is selected for Student Population, any student who has been exported previously will not be re-exported again as a first time student.
If Students with Registered Units is set to Yes and the student has any registered units or remedial units within period that is the begin monitor date plus 90 days, they will be included in the export file.
If Days before Academic Year Start is entered, the system will include all students with a disbursement date within the number of days entered from the Begin Monitor Date entered.
If Days before Scheduled Disbursement is entered, the system will include all students with a disbursement date within the number of days entered from the Begin Monitor Date entered.
